This is a wrong narratives on the status of the land.
1. What happened was that centenary city is owned by the kindred families of Ndiaga Amechi.
2. During the regime of senator Jim nwobodo, the then Anambra state Government made attempt to acquire the area for construction of permanent site for Esut.
3. The acquisition process was not and never completed. I will publish a public notice published by Jim nwobodo on that.
4. During chimaroke administration,he relocated Esut permanent site to
Agbani thereby leaving the so called centenary city for the customary owners.
5.During Sullivan regime, some persons within government circle manufactured a gazette purporting that ENUGU state government acquired centenary city for overriding public purpose. The gazette was purportedly signed by emeka omerua as a military administrator. Unfortunately, emeka omerua was not the military administrator at the year the gazette was purportedly signed by him. Secondly, the survey plan used in the acquisition bears plan showing acquisition of Esut permanent site by ENUGU state government when ENUGU state government was not created at the year the plan and gazette were made.
6. Apart from these obvious irregularities suggestive of manipulations and absence of acquisition, the Sullivan government purportedly to have sold the area to a private company known as private estate international West African limited and granted c of o to the company. Remember it was said the acquisition was for overriding public purpose, so how does selling the areas to private company transformed to overriding public interest of ENUGU people.
7. Consequent upon the granting of c of o to private estate, the people of ndiaga Amechi led by sir Richard Nnamani took private estate and ENUGU state to court.
8. Governor ugwuanyi after going through the history surrounding the area revoked the c of o granted to private estate in 2019 thereby reverting ownership to indigenous owners.
9. Private estate went to court challenging the revocation which Amechi people joined as a party.
10. Meanwhile, private estate was all those while selling the land to some individuals. It sublet some areas to evergreen company. At the same time, the original owners started selling after the revocation of the c of o granted to private estate.
11. The resolve the whole issue ones, the people of Amechi went to court against ENUGU state government, private estate and evergreen company seeking for a declaration that the land called centenary city was never at anytime acquired by either Anambra or ENUGU state government.
13. The high presided by Hon justice odugu granted injunction restraining parties from demolition any building on the area pending the determination of the suit.
14. During court vacation, private estate and evergreen company hired the service of ENUGU police to carryout demolition of building in the area and Hon justice mogbo sitting as vacation judge granted injunction against the police, private estate and evergreen company from carrying out any demolition on the area pending the determination of who has actual title to the land already pending before justice odugu.
14. During another court vacation, private estate and evergreen company attempted another demolition and a vacation court granted another injunction against them.
I will later publish the claim of ndiaga pending in court, and the various injunctions.
17. The questions that should agitate our mind is how ENUGU state government which claimed to have sold the land to private estate and granted it c of o will turn round to be demolishing people buildings on behalf of private estate. Your consciousness of that will reveal to you what was actually happening.
19. A responsive government cannot tamper with a land whose title is being contested in court.
I am not holding brief for any of the parties by presenting the facts as I know it.
I wonder what will be the fate of government if at the end of the day the people of Amechi win the case in court which has more than 80% chances because available evidence and documents show.
